Updated my phone & unearthed this absolute treasure that I hadn't realised I'd lost/forgotten (vid below). My then 10 yo's debut single: "Staple the Vicar " π€© He went to primary school in the UK before moving to Ireland (my home).
10 yo: "My school is non-dom-in-achional so why don't you complain about the head inviting the vicar to Friday assemblies"?
Me: "I agree that Mr Biscuit (not his real name) shouldn't impose his religion on your school. That said, he's a good head & a good man so I'm not going to war over Jesus"
Son: "Well, the vicar isn't nice (she really wasn't) & I don't think she should be allowed to preach to us - in our non-dom-in-achional school"
Me: "Fair point. What do you want to do about it, loveen"?
Son: Disappears with thinking face, returns with guitar & his very first "protest song". Turns out, the list of people he had grievances with wasn't limited to the vicar. He got it all off his chest π
He celebrated his 17th birthday this month & I'm thrilled to say he's still making music & lighting up the lives of everyone he meets. Our world is a far better place for having this human force of goodness, joy, kindness, talent & love - in it. Proud to be your mam π
Volume up (ish) & watch all the way to the end:✊ππ₯π€©
