Ode to Laura

My beautiful baby sister died. I wrote an ode to Laura & recorded the first & only draft, in one go. No editing or finessing. Unpolished as it is, it captures the rawness of my grief. If we harden our hearts to loss of life & anesthetise our pain, we lose what it is to be human. The poem says it all💔

"Tell Laura I love her" (Ricky Valance). Dad always loved this song from the 60's & the name, which years later was chosen for his & my mam's last born💜

Fancied myself as a make-up artist in my teens. My lil sis was the perfect (if reluctant) model💖
