Long Covid awareness day. The best way of avoiding this disabling illness? Avoid getting Covid

It's long-Covid awareness day. We're all just one Covid infection away from getting this chronic, disabling illness. There's no cure, so if you don't want to join this club, avoid Covid like the plague it is.

Please watch this short documentary & listen to Rosie's story. And her father & the scientist who has spent years researching long-Covid. Their advice? Don't get Covid.

"A scientist. The Artist. A father. By Grant Wakefield (2024).

Matt McGorry, Orange Is the New Black and How to Get Away With Murder star, has spoken openly about his Long Covid battle. “It has dramatically changed my life,” said McGorry, describing symptoms including debilitating fatigue, depression, dysautonomia, Raynaud’s disease and brain fog, which he called “a cute little name for brain damage”.

“Having to still think about Covid fucking sucks. Trust me, I get it,” he said. “But empathy alone is not enough without actions of solidarity.”

"According to one report, 400 million people have been affected by long Covid. But it is under-diagnosed and misunderstood. McGorry said in the video he hesitated to speak publicly about his health “primarily because of fear of career discrimination and also people making assumptions about what I can and can’t do”.
